Minima Data transcription and maniulation with the minimum of fuss.

 TROIKA

has developed a highly efficient SEGY, SEGY Rev 1.0 XML based data manipulation utility. MINIMA provides a facility for reading SEGY and Standard Navigation formats into an editing suite that enables the merging of 2D datasets and output to 8 and 16 bit workstation ready SEGY.

MINIMA provides a conduit for the fast transfer of information to and from High Capacity Media, hard disk and across networks. Data may be read from URL’s over the Internet, Intranet or Extranet. MINIMA has been thoroughly tested and can work at on or near to the theoretical maximum of the very latest tape, cartridge and disk technology.

User Friendly

Minima is a SEGY and Navigation data analysis, viewing and rationalisation tool. Based on the widely used Magma transcription package Minima has been specifically designed to assist the user in carrying out quality assurance and quality control of data. The user may plot scatter diagrams of navigation data, merge post-stack and/or analyse the dynamic resolution of the samples.

Output of the data may be a selection of data, merge of positioning and seismic information and/or clipping of data to 16 or 8 bit sample values.

  • WindowsNT, 200 and XP
  • Unix, Linux,AIX and Sun
  • Standars SCSI adapters
  • High Capacity drive Connectivity
  • Transfer at Near theoretical Maximum
  • Portable c++ object orientated code
  • Graphical user interface
  • Digital capture of data index information
  • Input /Output SEGY Rev 1.0
  • Post-stack seismic/nav Merge
  • QA/QC plotting to screen and/or file
  • Scatter diagrams of NAV/Seismic
  • Upload to third party systems and databases

 Connectivity

Minima can be interfaced to any standard SCSI devices via an Adaptec controller including; 9-track, 3480, 3490, 3490E, 3590, Exabyte 8200, 8500, 8505, 8700, DLT, DAT, DVD, CD etc. Multiple drives may also be attached and run as separate job streams to increase throughput. A number of robotic devices have been implemented, and direct connectivity to Databases supplying indexed data with either standard format output or OASIS data-model. Should this be of interest please contact Troika for further information. Support for the older tape and media are also available under our associated produce Magma.

Listing

Indexes are created whilst data is read from tape, these are logically placed into a spread sheet style document, whereby each sheet represents a different header, e.g. for SEGY the EBCDIC, Decoded Binary Header and Trace headers are placed into three sheets so that all information is indexed. When navigation data is to be read this will also be placed into a similar document so that all the "metadata" can be clearly viewed and analysed. A log of the job instruction list is also kept and analysis of the operator system interface. All of the lists may be used for quality assurance purposes internally and when saved to disk or printed out supplied to the end client or user. These lists include details of the data that has been read from and written to tape providing a machinereadable listing for import to a database or spreadsheet format for labelling and/or documentation such as transmittals.

 transcription and remastering for industry.

Plotting

Plotting is to a TIFF graphics file, displayed on-screenor output to a printing or plotting device. The plot module can be called more than once in a parameter file and consequently multiple plots can be generated within one job for true quality control of the data passing through the system. The plot files are output to TIFF format and archived with the data. Data can displayed as whole lines selected parts of lines, crosslines or timeslices. Various views of the data may be requested during the read phase.

Statistical Graphs

A visual display of any discontinuity in a logical sequence may be displayed from the indexes within the spreadsheets. This is especially useful when analysing information such as CDP range, Shot Point Sequence, Positioning etc.
